NFC West
Arizona Cardinals -Steady is as Steady Does
Quarterback: Josh Rosen (100%)
Running Back: David Johnson (95%),
Wide Receivers: Larry Fitzgerald (84%), Christian Kirk (79%), Chad Williams (67%)
Tight End: Ricky Seals-Jones (67%), Jermaine Gresham (52%), Gabe Holmes (21%)
There honestly isn't a ton to talk about regarding the Arizona Cardinals' snap counts other than to say they've been remarkably consistent over the past few weeks. What could change that is their record. At 1-5, playoff chances are very bleak, especially in a division with the Rams and Seahawks. Should they continue to lose, it wouldn't be shocking to see the team's younger players like begin to get a bigger share of the work. Chad Williams, for instance, has seen his snap count percentage drop from 94% in Week 1 to 67% this past Sunday. He'd likely be in line to see that number climb as the losses continue to pile up.
Los Angeles Rams - Kupp Cooped Up
Quarterback: Jared Goff (100%)
Running Backs: Todd Gurley (78%), Malcolm Brown (22%)
Wide Receivers: Robert Woods (97%), Brandin Cooks (92%), Josh Reynolds (62%), Cooper Kupp (38%)
Tight Ends: Tyler Higbee (74%), Gerald Everett (28%)
While the Rams won and Todd Gurley had another massive day, the biggest news from this game was Cooper Kupp's MCL sprain. He'll almost certainly miss this week, and he could be out for a few games beyond that. The Rams can afford for him to get healthy as they have many other weapons and already hold a three-game lead in their division. Josh Reynolds is likely the biggest beneficiary of Kupp's absence. He saw the field on 62% of the Rams' offensive snaps, the second week in a row he's been over 50%. He only had one catch this week, but to be fair, the Rams as a team only had 14, instead relying on Gurley to win the game against the Broncos. Reynolds isn't worth an add unless 1) you are in a really deep league, or 2) Kupp's injury keeps him out longer than expected. Even then, it's a toss-up.
San Francisco 49ers - Have You Seen Morris?
Quarterback: C.J. Beathard (100%)
Running Backs: Kyle Juszczyk (68%), Matt Breida (47%), Raheem Mostert (40%), Alfred Morris (2%)
Wide Receivers: Marquise Goodwin (95%), Pierre Garcon (79%), Kendrick Bourne (40%)
Tight Ends: George Kittle (93%), Garrett Celek (30%)
Matt Breida came back earlier than expected from his injury, but the biggest news in the 49ers' backfield was the complete absence of Alfred Morris. Well, he did technically play one snap, but after getting at least 12 carries in four of his previous five games, that one touch might as well have been zero. Raheem Mostert saw the biggest gain in workload with Morris on the sidelines. He was on the field 40% of the time, compared to just 13% in Week 5 and 2% in Week 4. Mostert got 12 carries and was effective with them, too, gaining 87 yards on the ground. That performance could mean that Morris is just an extra body once again in Week 7.
Seattle Seahawks - Penny Sees Jump
Quarterback: Russell Wilson (100%)
Running Backs: Chris Carson (42%), Mike Davis (37%), Rashaad Penny (20%)
Wide Receivers: Tyler Lockett (78%), Doug Baldwin (75%), David Moore (46%), Brandon Marshall (38%)
Tight End: Darrell Daniels (51%), Tyrone Swoopes (42%)
Rashaad Penny saw a spike in work this week, but don't get too excited. Penny was on the field for 20% of the Seahawks' snaps, though much of that work was late in the game after they had already made the Raiders look like a college team. He did gain 43 yards on 9 carries, however, and added 27 receiving yards on a pair of receptions. While he's still not getting near the workload that some had envisioned when he was drafted, this game should add to his confidence should Chris Carson or Mike Davis go down.
