Julio Jones Has a Record 707 Scoreless Yards Through Six Games

The 2018 season is now six weeks old, but we have still yet to see Julio Jones visit to the end zone. Though scoreless so far, Jones is still among the league leaders in receiving yards as only Adam Thielen has more receiving yards in 2018 than Jones does. He is the PPR WR6 -- standard-league WR11 -- despite his lack of scoring.

After six games, Jones has 707 receiving yards for the Atlanta Falcons. This is the highest number of scoreless yards through six weeks of any player in NFL history, beating the 595 Drew Pearson amassed in 1974.

If Jones were to not to play another game in 2018, his yardage total would be the 10th-highest of all time of any player without a touchdown. Four other 21st century players are among the top 10. Torry Holt's 2009 campaign as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars saw him reel in 51 receptions for 722 yards, the ninth-most on the list. New York Giants wide receiver Amani Toomer amassed 747 scoreless yards in 2004, and Dwayne Bowe of the Kansas City Chiefs had 754 in 2014. These are “good” for 7th and 6th, respectively. Jones still has some ways to go to catch Hakeem Nicks, who sits second on the list. Nicks had 894 yards and zero scores back in 2013.

One would think Jones has a good chance of breaking his 2018 scoring duck in the Falcons' next game against the Giants. The G-Men have allowed three receiving touchdowns to wide receivers over their last two games.
