Michael Thomas Set an NFL Season-High With 211 Yards

Third-year wide receiver Michael Thomas got off to a fast start to the 2018 season, with 38 receptions for 397 yards and 3 scores for the New Orleans Saints between Weeks 1 and 3. He slowed down after that, with “only” 20 grabs for 271 yards and a single score in the four following games. But on Sunday, Thomas reminded the world that he is still a man for the big stage.

Thomas saw 15 targets against the previously undefeated Los Angeles Rams, and he converted them into 12 receptions for 211 yards and a score. This gave him 39.1 PPR points, his third game with at least 30 PPR points of the season. Thomas is the 5th wide receiver to have three 30-point PPR games in a season's opening nine weeks since 2010. Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers had four in 2014.

The 211 yards were the most by a single player in the 2018 season, beating the 180 yards amassed by both Jared Cook and Thomas himself back in Week 1. Thomas is the second wide receiver to have two games with at least 180 receiving yards in a single season since 2010, after Brown managed it in 2015. No player in Saints franchise history has had more yards in a single game.
