8 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 12
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
If you read a lot of fantasy content or spend much time on Twitter, Lamar Jackson might not seem like a sleeper. He's owned in less than one-third of Yahoo leagues though, meaning there's a solid chance he's still out there for the taking in your league.
It's not a lock he starts this week, so make sure to monitor the status of Joe Flacco (head coach John Harbaugh has been non-commital), but assuming Jackson starts, he will be an excellent fantasy play.
The work he did with his legs in his first start was outstanding, rushing the ball 27 times for 117 yards. He added 150 yards through the air on 19 attempted, but it's the 11.7 fantasy points he contributed with his legs that really creates value. After all, a run-heavy quarterback is basically a cheat code in fantasy football.
Jackson finished the week as the QB13 with 15.7 fantasy points, and that included virtually no damage done through the air. This week against the Oakland Raiders, he would get a chance to contribute as a true double-threat.
The Cincinnati Bengals, Jackson's Week 11 foe, rank a solid-enough 14th against the pass by our metrics, not making them a nightmare matchup, also not a cakewalk. The Raiders, on the other hand, sit dead-last in the metric, as well as 30th in overall defense.
Running the ball will be no problem for Jackson, but the fact that he could also contribute well through the air against Oakland gives him both a great floor and ceiling in fantasy football.
