Week 13 Game Scripts to Target in Daily Fantasy Football
Oakland Raiders vs. Kansas City Chiefs
Over/Under: 55.0
Chiefs Implied Team Total: 32.25
Raiders Implied Team Total: 19.75
Considering the Kansas City Chiefs are more than two-touchdown road favorites, this one doesn't project like much of a fair fight. While the total is extremely high, this feels like an opportunity to play just about everyone on the Chiefs' side and leave the Oakland Raiders side alone. Seriously, don't put yourself through that pain.
Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs
FanDuel Price: $8,900
This is pretty simple. Hunt is the lead running back tied to a 15.5-point favorite. Hunt averages 27.7 points per game this year when the Chiefs win by at least 14 points. Oakland is a juicy matchup, allowing the 10th-most points per game to running backs, but even that sells the matchup short. Oakland's rush defense ranks third-last according to numberFire's Net Expected Points model. Hunt is an obvious cash-game option who may go ever so slightly under-owned given his previous two performances.
Tyreek Hill, WR, Kansas City Chiefs
FanDuel Price: $8,400
Look, if I had the room, all four of the main Chiefs would get a highlight here. Tyreek Hill gets the nod as the fourth-highest priced receiver on the slate despite leading his position in fantasy points per game (20.29). Hill is already under-priced before considering matchup, and the Raiders are tied for allowing the most completions of forty or more yards (12). Oddly, across a now-42 total game sample, Hill averages nearly eight more fantasy points per game on the road for his career. Giddy up.
Others to Consider
Let's save each other some time. Oakland's pass defense ranks dead-last per numberFire's Net Expected Points model. Patrick Mahomes ($9,500) and Travis Kelce ($7,800) deserve to be the highest-priced options at their respective positions. Being 15.5-point favorites suggests a run-heavy game script, but to get to that point will mean the Chiefs have done plenty of scoring. That gives Mahomes and Kelce some big touchdown upside, even if the volume doesn't end up being there. Both are strong cash game options with expected high GPP ownership.
Honestly, it's probably best if you don't play anyone on the Raiders side. If you must, Jared Cook ($6,200) has an excellent matchup against a defense sorely missing Eric Berry. But he's pretty expensive given his offense's low implied point total and his inconsistent target share on a team that's actively tanking.
Jalen Richard ($4,800) could also be in for some significant volume. He ranks second on the team in targets (63), and with Oakland sitting as the week's biggest underdog, there will be no shortage of volume available through the air.
If you're swinging for the fences at wideout, it's at least worth noting rookie Marcell Ateman ($4,600) has 15 targets across his first two NFL games over the last two weeks. He's done nothing with them, because Oakland, but his volume is technically a value given his low price-tag.
