5 NFL Stats to Know Through Week 14
Derrick Henry Rushed for 200-Plus Yards
Through the first 13 weeks of the season, Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry had amassed 474 yards rushing with 5 touchdowns. His season-high for a single game were the 58 yards he totaled against the New England Patriots in Week 10, a game in which he scored two touchdowns. But then, Thursday night happened.
Bolstered by just the second 99-yard touchdown run in history, Henry ran over the Jacksonville Jaguars to the tune of 238 yards. He also found the endzone four times in total. The yards are the most in Titans franchise history, beating the 228 Chris Johnson managed back in 2009, also against the Jaguars.
Henry racked up his yards and touchdowns on just 17 carries, the fewest in a game with 200-plus yards and four or more rushing touchdowns in the Super Bowl era. He is one of only four running backs with four rushing touchdowns in a game since 2010, and the first since then-Patriot Jonas Gray did it back in Week 11 of the 2014 season.
Henry and the Titans face the New York Giants next week. The Giants' defense has allowed 11 different running backs to score 15 or more PPR points against them in 2018, but the inconsistency of Henry and the Titans' backfield doesn't guarantee a repeat performance in Week 15.
