Fantasy Football: 5 Things We Learned in Week 14
Kenny Stills Might Be Happening
Remember Kenny Stills? That guy who scored 24.6 points all the way back in Week 1 of the NFL season, and then fell clean off the face of the Earth? Well, he just checked in this week to remind everyone that he's still here.
The Miami Dolphins triumphed over the New England Patriots on the very last play of the game. Stills was one of the few 'Phins skill players not involved on that trick play, but it's safe to say they wouldn't have come away with that win without him.
Over the course of the game he caught 8 of his 9 targets, putting up 135 and a score in the process. He was an instrumental part of the passing game. You could even argue that he was the passing game -- no other receiver caught more than one pass in the entire match.
It wasn't the first time Stills has shown up since the Dolphins starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill returned. He also corralled four of his six targets in Week 13 for 37 yards and another touchdown. Stills's 0.85 Weighted Opportunity Rating -- which combines a receiver's target share and share of his team's air yards into one metric -- ranks as the third-highest in the league per Josh Hermsmeyer's AirYards.com over the last two weeks. That means that when Tannehill drops back to pass, there's a very good chance he's throwing to Stills.
The Dolphins have been one of the least consistent and least predictable offenses of 2018, but Kenny Stills has emerged from that chaos and is proving that he's a reliable asset for your fantasy teams -- just in time for the playoffs. You might not feel comfortable trusting a Dolphins receiver, but Stills might be worth a leap of faith.
