Rob Gronkowski

Yes, it seems strange listing a potential hall of fame tight end as an X-factor, but Rob Gronkowski struggled staying on the field this year and was visibly hobbled by injuries to anyone who watched. Gronk had just 47 receptions this season -- his second-lowest since 2013 -- and 3 touchdowns, tied for the fewest he's ever scored in a season.

But Gronk showed some life in the AFC Championship game, leading the Patriots in targets (11) and finishing with 6 receptions for 79 yards. In what could be his swan song, the Super Bowl offers a chance for Gronk to turn in one of his best performances of the season.

Like the Kansas City Chiefs, the Rams were susceptible to tight end production during the regular season. The Rams allowed the 10th-most receptions (80) to opposing tight ends this season and the second-most yards (1,075). In the postseason, the Rams have allowed a combined 6 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown to tight ends from the Cowboys and Saints, although neither of those teams generally feature their tight ends on offense.

Somewhat of a forgotten man during the regular season due to injuries, with retirement talk swirling, Gronk could post one last great performance and be an X-factor in Super Bowl LIII.
