8 Big-Name Players You May Want to Bench in Week 8

Back-to-back weeks? I figure, if I'm doubling down on Cutler in the same week, why not double down on Matt Ryan in consecutive ones too? Last week's prediction of a Matty Ice struggle proved to be true, as the Baltimore Ravens blitzed the living daylights out of the decimated Atlanta offensive line, sacking Ryan five times. In the process, Ryan lost yet another starting lineman for the season in center Peter Konz. I don't know about you, but the phrase "next man up" doesn't sound at all comforting when facing the prospect of battling Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley in the interior trenches.

Ryan is now averaging more than a turnover a game, has three consecutive games with just one touchdown pass (and less than 15 fantasy points in each of those games), and has only passed for more than 300 yards once in the last six weeks. With the Detroit Lions defense as the best in our Adjusted Defensive NEP metrics by a country mile, and third in the league in sacks, Matt Ryan should be in for another rough week.
