10 Waiver Wire Pickups for Week 9

A month ago, we were seriously considering whether or not the Patriots were going to start Jimmy Garoppolo over Tom Brady. As the wise Philip J. Fry once said, time makes fools of us all.

To make matters worse, as recently as a week ago, this humble writer was ripping on LaFell, calling him a career journeyman who couldn't even make Carolina keep him, the same Carolina that currently has Jerricho Cotchery as their number-two wideout! (In my defense, that's still pretty damn bad. If you can't beat out Cotchery, a life of professional football isn't for you.)

Well, he's still a number-two receiver, but unlike the garbage fire that is Carolina, now he's playing for an offense that is rocking. It's unsustainable, but as long as Brady is burning, LaFell has serious value, both on your roster and as a trade-high flip.
