The Chiefs Need a Wide Receiver

The Jets hand over passing touchdowns, and in Week 9, Alex Smith was able to throw for two of his own. But they didn't go to wide receivers. Because no wide receiver has caught a touchdown pass for Kansas City this year.

Just to show you how bad their wide receiver play has been: Entering Week 9, 133 wide receivers had 5 or more receptions on the season. When ranking this group of 133 by Reception NEP, which measures the number of expected points added on catches only, the highest-ranked Chief comes in at 41. That's Dwayne Bowe. Allen Hurns, Jacksonville's number-three wideout, ranks ahead of Bowe.

It's not a good situation in Kansas City, but at least the team is playing well.
