8 Big-Name Players Who Will Be Tough to Trust in Week 15

Josh Gordon, WR, Cleveland Browns

I'm going to pour a little cold water on the Johnny Football love-fest, after all. I love him just as much as the next guy, and in fact, I will be the proud owner of a Johnny Manziel jersey soon, and I'm not even a Browns fan. The guy is phenomenal to watch and a lot of fun to be a fan of, but it's his first NFL start. There will be problems.

Some of those problems will affect star wideout Josh Gordon. Since his return from suspension in Week 12, Gordon has seen his weekly yardage slip from 120, to 75, to 15. Now, people are speculating that the added read-option rushing risk that Manziel presents will allow Gordon to freewheel downfield and be a Mike Evans-esque receiving option. I don't rule that out, but banking on the same tactics in fantasy that everyone bombarded Manziel for, for relying on in college doesn't seem right. That's akin to the assumption that you'd rather have Brett Favre at the end of the game than Aaron Rodgers because "Favre was a gunslinger and just didn't quit". Malarkey: you want reliably predictable production that will still get you where you need to go. That is not what the Browns' passing offense will look like on Sunday.

Against a Bengals' defense that ranks 12th in the league against the pass, I wouldn't go betting the farm on the Manziel-to-Gordon connection this week. In time it may prove to be one of the best passer-receiver duos in the league, but not just yet.
