The Top 5 NFL Undrafted Rookies to Watch in Training Camp

This is an easy one. La’el Collins is the highest value undrafted free agent in this year’s rookie class, after being projected by many to go in the top 10 overall. Questions about his character surfaced the week before the NFL Draft, however, when Collins was named a person-of-interest in a murder case, due to a prior relationship with the victim. He was never under investigation as a suspect, though, and the Dallas Cowboys leapt on the opportunity to snag a premium talent to add to their already star-studded offensive line.

Collins, a versatile talent who played both left tackle and left guard for the LSU Tigers, stands 6’ 4” and weighs 305 pounds. He’s an intimidating presence for any pass-rusher to handle, despite concerns about his less-active hand usage and poor change-of-direction for a tackle.

Still, his pure strength is his strength, and his run blocking is among the best in the nation. If you needed any more convincing, the LSU coaching staff credited him with 222.5 pancake (knockdown) blocks in his 45 game career in college. Expect him to be in the regular rotation of the Cowboys’ line this year, if not a cemented starter.
