Ron Parker, Safety

I don’t usually like to recommend cross-positional stacks for teams in IDP. IDP players thrive on play opportunities, and if a play is coming to one area on the field, it’s not going to another; simple logic, right? The reason why I think Ron Parker bucks this trend is that the Denver Broncos are visiting his Kansas City Chiefs this week, and that could be a defensive goldmine.

Now again, let’s take this logic and parse it out. If the Broncos hand the ball off a ton, those play opportunities will go to the linebackers and defensive line. However, that also means the defense will cheat up in the box and start playing the run more. That could mean the Broncos start testing the safeties with Peyton Manning’s arm. All Parker needs is a few solid tackles in the defensive backfield, or one floated pass, and he has paid off his cost for you this week. It’s a speculative play, but most defensive backs are.

Parker is available in 89.8% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for around 6.0 tackles, one pass defensed, a strong chance for an interception, and a total score of 8.34 balanced fantasy points in Week 2.
