It looks like Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has found a favorite target in Cleveland in speedy wideout Travis Benjamin.
After hooking up with Benjamin on a 54-yard touchdown against the Jets in Week 1, Manziel found Benjamin for 2 more scores in Week 2, first connecting on a 60-yard pass on the second play of the game and then on a 50-yard strike with 2:52 left on the clock in what would be the game-sealing touchdown.
All in all, Benjamin would end the day with 3 receptions for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns, with a third touchdown on a 78-yard punt return sandwiched between his 2 scores through the air.
However, a major point of concern is the lack of volume in the passing game in Cleveland. On Sunday, Manziel attempted just 15 passes in a relatively close game against the Titans, with Benjamin leading the team in targets with a whopping 4. So while the 5'10" Browns receiver has put up impressive numbers so far thanks to his 4.36-second 40 wheels, as a situational deep threat on a run-heavy team, it might be foolish to chase after Benjamin's production over the first two weeks of the year.
With that being said, if the Browns coaching staff decides to open up the playbook and let Manziel sling the ball a few more times in future games, the budding chemistry between the young duo may make Benjamin a high-upside boom-or-bust WR3 option in fantasy leagues this year.
