10 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 6
Jay Cutler, QB, Chicago Bears
Jay Cutler sure isn't a sleeper by name recognition, but after his start to the season, he's available in plenty of fantasy leagues. He's also got the whole he's-Jay-Cutler aura about him, which combined with poor play last year had him on the hot seat for what seemed like the entire season.
Well, Cutler is back, and he's doing typical Cutler things in terms of fantasy scoring. Last year, he finished as the QB14 despite missing a game and posting a Passing Net Expected Points (NEP) that was below zero, which indicates that he performed as a below-expectation-level passer.
This week, Cutler and the Bears head to Detroit to face the Lions, who rank 26th both in fantasy points allowed to quarterbacks and in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. The blow up potential is always there, but coming off consecutive 17-point performances and in this matchup, Cutler can produce again.
