10 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 6
Marvin Jones, WR, Cincinnati Bengals
Marvin Jones looks good from a peripheral standpoint. He's played at least 43 snaps in every game so far (including a 78-snap Week 5). He's playing on the most efficient offense in the NFL in terms of Adjusted Passing NEP per play, a team that has run the most red zone plays of any squad in the NFL through Week 5. He's seen at least 5 targets in 3 of his 5 games, including two 8-target games. He has a respectable six red zone targets.
However, his Reception NEP (20.23) ranks just 41st among 15-plus-target receivers, and he's got just 15 catches for 226 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Against the Bills, who are sixth against the pass by our metrics, he won't have the easiest time improving on that. But that's part of why he's a sleeper.
By virtue of playing in Buffalo, the Bengals are favored by just 3.5-points against a team that might be without its starting quarterback. Buffalo has allowed multiple touchdowns to receivers in three of five games (keeping only the Titans' receivers out of the end zone, which happened last week). Scoring could be at a premium, but if Buffalo's offense struggles to maintain drives without Tyrod Taylor, then that's just more time for Jones to try to reach the end zone.
