Matt Forte

It's hard to go wrong with Matt Forte in your cash game lineups, and I'm going back to the well again this weekend.

Forte is such a safe pick for cash game lineups for a number of reasons. First, he remains the running back with the highest percentage of involvement on team offensive snaps in the league at a ridiculous 83.5% of total team snaps after five weeks. While Forte hasn't been efficient with his rushes in 2015, currently sporting a -0.05 Rushing NEP per rush, I'd expect that to change soon given that three of his matchups have occurred against top-11 rushing defenses through five weeks in the season.

Second, Forte's passing-game acumen makes him less vulnerable to the ebbs and flows of funky game scripts. If the Bears get down by a ton of points, Forte will get a bunch of dump-off passes. If the Bears are nursing a lead (funny, I know), then Forte will get a bunch of dump-off passes and rushing attempts.

Forte also gets a favorable matchup this weekend against the Lions, who are currently only the 18th best defense against the run in the NFL per our metrics. And while the Lions are even worse against the pass (26th), the Bears' injury struggles with Alshon Jeffery and Eddie Royal virtually guarantee Forte a ton of touches even if both manage to make their way onto the field at less than full strength.

With such a high floor given his outsized role in the offense, and a favorable matchup on the docket for Week 6, Forte will be another stud you should consider for your cash game lineups.
