Plugging the Gaps: IDP Waiver Wire for Week 6
K.J. Wright, Linebacker
Adding to the bonanza that could be in feasting on the Panthers’ offense is K.J. Wright, weak-side (or WILL) linebacker for the Seahawks. Wright has always been solid, not stellar, but when you’re looking for waiver wire claims that are lightly owned, solid is what you hope for. Still, Wright has compiled a fine 2015 résumé so far, with 33 total tackles, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery through five games.
In this Week 6 tilt against the Panthers, Wright’s tackle pace is sure to go up even more. As we stated before, with the Panthers the rush-heaviest team in the NFL, Wright’s ability to get to the play will help him immensely in this matchup. Though the Panthers are stingy on sack and stuff percentages allowed, Wright is more of a coverage linebacker anyway. If he makes a big play, it will be stripping the ball or picking off a pass, though that may be a longshot against this conservative Carolina offense.
Wright is available in 89.0% of ESPN IDP leagues, and we project him for around 7.0 tackles, a chance for a pass defensed, and a total score of 7.74 balanced fantasy points in Week 6.
