Rishard Matthews, WR, Miami Dolphins

The forgotten man on the Miami Dolphins prior to the start of the season thanks to the additions of Kenny Stills and rookie DeVante Parker, Rishard Matthews may have just emerged as the team's number one wide receiver.
On Sunday against the Tennessee Titans' 26th-ranked passing defense according to our advanced metrics, Matthews caught 6 of 6 targets for 85 receiving yards. While these numbers are nothing to sneeze at, his contributions to the Dolphins' passing game can actually best be measured by his team-leading 8.50 Reception NEP on the day.
And a quick look at Matthews season-long numbers reveals that he's been doing this for the Dolphins all year long. His 1.04 Reception NEP per target prior to the start of Week 6 stood as the third highest mark among all wideouts with at least 25 targets this season, and he currently leads the team with 363 receiving yards despite being just third on the team in targets (32), behind Jarvis Landry (50), and Jordan Cameron (36).
With Matthews' ability to move the chains for the Dolphins thanks to his efficiency in the passing game, he should continue to see a big role in Bill Lazor's offense regardless of who else is on this team.
