DraftKings Daily Fantasy Football Helper for Week 7
Running Backs
High-Cost Option: Devonta Freeman $7,900
Likely to be the most "chalk" play of the week, Devonta Freeman takes on a Tennessee defense that just allowed Miami's Lamar Miller to break out for 113 yards on 19 carries and a score. What does that say for Freeman's potential this week?
Tennessee has been run over heavily this season, as their opponents are rushing 49.8% of the time against them -- most in the league. Averaging 39.4 fantasy points per game since his Week 3 breakout, Freeman will be a staple across many cash game lineups this week and should see a ton of volume (and fantasy points) in this matchup.
Mid-Cost Option: Todd Gurley $5,000
Speaking of chalk, Todd Gurley's should be heavily featured in lineups this week against a Cleveland defense giving up the most rushing yards per game in the league. Consequently, the Browns have given up the fourth-most fantasy points to running backs and could see that number get even worse after facing a dangerous Gurley. Also in his favor: the Rams are 5.5-point home favorites. Gurley has rushed for 146 and 159 yards his last two outings and will have his eyes set on making it a third straight 100-yard game against a soft defense at home.
Low-Cost Option: Christine Michael $3,000
The Cowboys have made some big moves following their bye week, as they've anointed Matt Cassel their starting quarterback and moved on to Christine Michael to spearhead the backfield going forward. Dynasty players are eagerly waiting for the debut of Michael this week, as the former second-round pick has been finally freed from the shadows of Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. The Cowboys are introducing him to the Giants, a team that's allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to opposing running backs and have struggled as of late defending the run. At the $3,000 minimum price, Michael could be another popular play with a potentially high ceiling.
GPP Wildcard: Theo Riddick $3,600
The Detroit rushing game is a mess right now, as the Lions just lost Zach Zenner for the year and have had repeated fumbling issues with Ameer Abdullah. The Lions have subsequently resorted to the pass heavily, as they lead the league in pass play percentage. Theo Riddick has emerged sneakily as the RB15 on the year in PPR scoring, and after seeing a career-high in rushing attempts last week, he could be a viable punt play at the running back position. The Vikings rush defense has rebounded after their Week 1 exploitation by Carlos Hyde, but are still vulnerable in what projects to be the closest game of the week. Riddick has eclipsed 50 receiving yards the past two games, giving him a nice receiving floor to complement a team that may need him to contribute more in the rushing game this week.
