FanDuel Studs to Target in Week 7
T.Y. Hilton
FanDuel Price: $7,700
numberFire Projected Points: 16.8
For the past couple of seasons T.Y. Hilton has garnered a reputation in fantasy circles as an explosive wide receiver capable of putting up outrageous numbers followed by games with little to no production. This has made him traditionally, for DFS purposes, a much better tournament option than cash game option due to his volatility.
But this week, I'm comfortable playing him in cash for a couple of reasons. First, Hilton's actually been much more consistent this season than he's being given credit for, having posted only one game of fewer than 10 points on FanDuel all season, and that was against the vaunted Jets' secondary in Week 2 when he was still ailing from a knee injury suffered in Week 1. Moreover, he's done all this throughout Andrew Luck's early season struggles in Weeks 1 through 3, and through two games with Matt Hasselbeck as his quarterback.
And Luck's troubles were largely a thing of the past in Week 6 after his two week hiatus due to his shoulder injury, so a matchup with the 30th-ranked Saints pass defense could be just what the doctor ordered to really get the Luck-Hilton connection humming. With the highest over/under of the week sitting at 52 points, and the Colts expected to win by 4.5 points, the team is expected to score at least 4 touchdowns. With Hilton receiving a 25% total team target share, he's a good bet to be one of the recipients of said touchdowns. But even if he isn't, he's proven this season that he provides a nice floor without being touchdown dependent.
Don't be afraid to roster Hilton in cash, but certainly don't shy away from him in tournaments as the high-flying affair in Indianapolis could lead to a mountain of fantasy goodness.
