Jeremy Langford steps into a nice role with the Chicago Bears, given the fact that some clarity around Matt Forte's knee injury has surfaced. While it's likely an MCL injury and not an ACL injury, Forte's status for Week 9 -- at least -- is in doubt.

That's enough to make Langford a hot waiver target. Forte had ranked worse than 14th in PPR scoring just once this year, so Langford could be a significant fantasy asset immediately.

Langford carried the ball 12 times in Week 8 (and just 15 times prior to that this year). His Rushing Net Expected Points (NEP) per carry score of -0.02 on those 15 carries placed him at just about league average level. However, Chicago's Week 9 opponent, San Diego, boasts a bottom-three run defense according to our metrics. With the workload and running back friendly system, Langford is worth a claim.
