10 Fantasy Football Sleepers for Week 14
Ryan Tannehill, QB, Miami Dolphins
Ryan Tannehill was rough last week, and that might be putting it mildly. If you were to look at just the boxscore from Week 13, your first thought would likely be that Tannehill may have left early with an injury. How else could he have posted 86 passing yards against the porous Baltimore Ravens pass defense?
Poor game script can be blamed for many of his shortcomings last week, though that's nothing new for this team. Whether it's Tannehill recording only nine completions in a week or Lamar Miller posting a ridiculous five carries, it seems the Dolphins are incapable of finding balance within this offense.
Possessing tremendous upside -- he's only two weeks removed from a 351-yard, 3-touchdown game -- Tannehill could be primed for a big outing against a New York Giants' defense that has been exploited over the past weeks. Ranking just 25th in our Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play metric, this pass defense has allowed an average of 342 passing yards and 1.67 touchdowns over the past three games. As the Giants' rush defense ranks a respectable 14th in terms of Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP, there's a good chance the Dolphins will be forced to air it out in this matchup. If they do, look for Tannehill to post big fantasy numbers.
