The Washington Redskins are our ninth-ranked offense for the 2015 season. Some may point to the fact that the Redskins played in a weak NFC East division, but two of their division rivals -- Dallas and Philadelphia -- actually ranked in the top half of the league in defensive efficiency according to our NEP metrics, which pours some cold water on that argument.
Instead, a lot of the credit for Washington's offensive success this year falls on the shoulders of quarterback Kirk Cousins. Cousins was actually the seventh most efficient quarterback with at least 200 drop backs this season, sandwiched in between Drew Brees and Cam Newton. Not bad company.
And despite having a running game led by the inefficient duo of Alfred Morris and Matt Jones that was ranked as the fifth worst rushing attack in the league, Cousins still managed to lead Washington to the the 10th most points in the league (388) thanks in large part to his 4,166 passing yards and a 29-to-11 touchdown-to-interception ratio.
