Reception NEP: 151.54

Remember that old narrative that said wide receivers aren’t productive until their third season? Someone forgot to tell Odell Beckham Jr. The sophomore receiver tops our list with an otherworldly Reception NEP of 151.54. Despite only playing 15 games, OBJ’s season ranks as the seventh best since 2000, in terms of Reception NEP.

OBJ caught 96 passes on 158 targets for 1,450 yards, and 13 touchdowns. Despite seeing the fewest targets of the top five wide receivers, his 0.96 Reception NEP per target was third in the league among wide receivers with at least 75 targets. Only Sammy Watkins (1.05) and Doug Baldwin (1.01) were better.

With Tom Coughlin resigning, it’s unclear in which direction the Giants offense will head. One thing remains clear: Odell Beckham Jr. will remain the focal point of any system.
