Fantasy Football 2016 Rookie Mock Draft: Round 2
2.01: Jordan Howard, RB, Chicago Bears
Drafter Comments
"Howard is 6'0", 230 pounds, and he runs a 4.59 40-yard dash. The Bears are going back to their roots and transforming themselves back into a ball control/strong defense type of team. Six of their 2016 draft picks were spent on defense, with the seventh on the offensive line. Jeremy Langford and Ka'Deem Carey are ahead of Howard on the depth chart, so the opportunity to become the lead back is there. Some scouts viewed Howard as the best runner in this year's draft. I wanted to go Paul Perkins here due to his more well-rounded game, but the talent and situation were too much to ignore." -- Stan Son
Other Comments
"This is probably a little early for me personally, but it's hard to argue the talent of Howard. People love Langford, but the reality is that he was incredibly inefficient last season, both as a rusher and a receiver, according to our Net Expected Points (NEP) metric. While Howard isn't generally labeled as a receiver, it probably isn't very hard to imagine him taking even that role long term for this team. Now all the Bears have to do is start winning football games." -- Anthony Amico
