Best Pick: Giovani Bernard
Yes, I selected Duke Johnson over Giovani Bernard here in the fifth round thanks to his reception upside, but Bernard was part of my consideration set. The fact that Jordan was able to snag him at the end of the fifth as the 21st back off the board is phenomenal.
Why? Because Bernard has never finished that low in the fantasy ranks over his young three-year career. He was the 16th-ranked back in PPR leagues last season, the 18th the year prior, and the 13th during his rookie year.
Jordan snagged him at his probable floor, which is always a good thing. And if an injury hits Jeremy Hill, or if Cincinnati's new offense features more Bernard, then we're looking at a higher-end RB2 getting snatched up at the 5-6 turn. Nothing wrong with that at all.
