There are bad offseasons, and then there are offseasons like Austin Seferian-Jenkins is having.

The 2014 second-round pick is entering his third season in an up-and-coming offense, but instead of generating breakout-type news blurbs, he's been getting kicked out of practice and passed on the depth chart.

The good news here is that all of this bad news has suppressed his value. And Seferian-Jenkins is still an immensely talented player.

Seferian-Jenkins has been limited by injuries throughout his brief career, but when he's been able to play, he's shown he's more than capable of putting up big numbers. Among tight ends to see at least 35 targets a year ago, he ranked first in Reception NEP per target.

Seferian-Jenkins is somewhat similar to Jordan Reed in that he's a very athletic tight end who plays great in doses but can't seem to stay healthy. Well, we all saw what Reed could do when he stayed (relatively) healthy last season, and Seferian-Jenkins has shown he can produce when he's on the field.

He's currently the TE18 in drafts while our projections have him as the TE17, although he's just one touchdown away from jumping up to the 14th-ranked tight end.

Time will tell how serious the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are about starting Cameron Brate over him, but Seferian-Jenkins has reportedly been playing well at camp. Considering his talent and the draft capital the Buccaneers invested in him, Seferian-Jenkins will likely get every chance to fail, but at this price, it's not going to crush you if he does.
