Is Jamaal Charles' New Contract Good for the Chiefs?
What happens when you rush for 1,287 yards and 12 touchdowns and lead your team in receptions and receiving yards? Girlfriend's gonna get paaaaaid.
Of course in this instance, "Girlfriend" is Jamaal Charles, a certified man-beast who basically single-handedly carried the Kansas City offense to the playoffs last year. And get paid he did.
According to this ESPN article, it's a two-year extension for Charles that keeps him under contract through the end of the 2017 season. He'll make $18.1 million over the final two years and get a sizable raise over the next two. It's an okay day to be Jamaal Charles.
This brings up the question of whether or not this is also a good day for the Kansas City Chiefs. We all know how volatile the life of an NFL running back is, and Charles is already 27.
