Saints' Drew Brees has torn plantar fascia
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees is dealing with a torn plantar fascia in his right foot, ESPN's Ed Werder reports.
Brees suffered the injury in the first half of Monday night's loss to the Detroit Lions. Brees will get an opinion from Dr. Robert Anderson, who recently treated Peyton Manning for the same injury. According to Werder, Brees is planning to play the final two games of the regular season but that might change after his visit with Anderson. Matt Flynn would fill in if Brees can't play Sunday against Jacksonville.
Among passers with at least 100 drop backs, Brees ranks ninth in Passing Net Expected Points per drop back. In Week 16, New Orleans hosts the Jacksonville Jaguars, who rank 20th in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per drop back.
