Christian Kirk (ankle) expected to sit for Cardinals Week 5
Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Christian Kirk (ankle) is unlikely to play Week 5 against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, head coach Kliff Kingsbury said.
Kirk is practicing on a limited basis, but Kingsbury said the receiver is fortunate the injury wasn't worse, so it sounds like the Cardinals are taking a conservative approach. Damiere Byrd (hamstring) is also expected to sit, so rookies Keesean Johnson and Andy Isabella could be in line for expanded roles. Larry Fitzgerald would also be busy. Kirk's 37 targets are top-10 among receivers this season.
The Cardinals face a Bengals defense that is 13th in the NFL in receiving yards allowed per game, though that's largely because they've been gashed on the ground (27th).
