49ers' George Kittle dealing with a knee sprain
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters that star tight end George Kittle is dealing with a knee sprain.
He added that the tight end was still sore today and that he would undergo further testing on Wednesday. Kittle injured his knee in the first half of the 49ers' loss to the Arizona Cardinals, but was able to return in the second half.
Kittle still posted a fine stat line on Sunday with 4 receptions for 44 scoreless yards and 1 carry for 9 yards, but his fantasy results were certainly disappointing against last season's easiest matchup for tight ends. Hopefully he'll make a full recovery during the week, but if Kittle can't go for Week 2, expect Jordan Reed to take a step up in the 49ers' injury-decimated receiver corps.
