Saints' Michael Thomas expected to miss "several weeks" with high-ankle sprain
New Orleans Saints star wide receiver Michael Thomas is expected to miss "several weeks" with the high-ankle sprain he suffered at the end of Week 1's victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Thomas' ankle injury is worse than the Saints originally believed, and he will now miss out on several weeks as he recovers. Thomas had a quiet Week 1 against Tampa Bay, hauling in 3 of 5 targets for 17 yards, and will now have to wait until later in the season to make an impact. With Thomas sidelined, Alvin Kamara, Jared Cook, Tre'Quan Smith, and Emmanuel Sanders could all see an uptick in opportunity in the passing game.
The Saints' are 6.5 point favorites against the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday Night Football in Week 2. Their implied team total of 28.5 points is the third-highest implied team total on the Sunday-Monday slate, according to numberFire's DFS Heat Map.
