49ers' Tevin Coleman (knee) designated to return
The San Francisco 49ers designated running back Tevin Coleman (knee) to return from injured reserve.
Coleman has a chance to play in Sunday's Week 8 game against the Seattle Seahawks. He hasn't played since Week 2. Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson are both sidelined with ankle injuries, so Coleman will likely form a committee with Jerick McKinnon and JaMycal Hasty. He had 5 touches with a 9.7 percent snap share in Week 1 but then handled 16 touches with a 49.2 percent snap share in Week 2.
Coleman is the only 49ers' running back recording negative Rushing Net Expected Points per carry and he ranks last out of the 81 backs with at least 15 carries this season. Seattle has the No. 6 rush defense in numberFire's advanced team rankings, compared to No. 26 against the pass.
