Falcons' Calvin Ridley stepping away from football
Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Calvin Ridley has announced that he will be stepping away from football as he attends to his mental health.
Ridley was a surprise inactive for Sunday's Week 8 game against the Carolina Panthers, missing his second game this season as he attends to a personal matter. In his brave statement this afternoon, he announced that he will be stepping away from football as he takes care of his own mental health.
A first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Ridley has proved himself to be an electric talent on the field at the NFL level after dominating the competition at Alabama in college. His incredible 2020 season saw the standout receiver catching 90 passes for 1,374 yards and 9 scores.
