Giants' Daniel Jones (neck) out for rest of 2021 season
The New York Giants are shutting down quarterback Daniel Jones (neck) for the remainder of the 2021 season.
Jones will head to the season-ending injured reserve as the Giants, who are virtually out of playoff contention, look to close out their disappointing 2021 campaign. The Giants seem likely to start Jake Fromm at quarterback in Week 16, and perhaps even for the remainder of the season.
Jones was not an effective quarterback this season, but did deal with an absurd amount of injuries to his receivers throughout the year. He'll finish the year with 232 completions on 361 attempts, and 10 touchdowns to 7 interceptions. Jones did show some progression after his dismal 2020 campaign (including posting a career-low 5.7% sack rate), but still committed 7 fumbles.
