Jonnu Smith (ankle) present Thursday for Patriots
New England Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith (ankle) was seen at practice on Thursday.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported Wednesday that Smith was considered week-to-week with an ankle injury, but Thursday's participation would suggest the tight end has a chance to play Week 5 against the Detroit Lions. Hunter Henry should see a larger role if Smith winds up being ruled out.
Smith is averaging 3.1 FanDuel points per contest, with an 11.3% target share on a 55.8% offensive snap rate. Operating under the assumption that Smith will be out, numberFire's models project Henry for 2.1 catches and 21.5 yards on 3.1 targets in Week 5, and he is the TE26 in our weekly rankings.
