DeVante Parker 'in better shape' for Patriots in 2023 offseason

The Athletic's Jeff Howe reports that New England Patriots wide receiver DeVante Parker reported to camp "in better shape" this offseason than he did in 2022.

What It Means:

Parker's first season with the Patriots wasn't exactly a successful one. The former Dolphin dealt with multiple injuries in 2022 while operating as the team's top X-receiver. He was efficient when he and Jones connected (he finished the year with a career-high 11.5 yards per target), but he averaged a thin 41.5 receiving yards per game in their first season together.

Parker and Jones took time to get on the same page during the 2022 season, but could benefit from having a productive offseason together this year. Jones threw 4 interceptions when targeting Parker in the first 3 weeks of the 2022 season alone, and injuries hampered each for extended periods after that. Their final game together was encouraging, though, with Parker catching 6 passes for 79 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Bills. They'll look to build on that chemistry this season.
