Amon-Ra St. Brown confident in Lions' rookies' impact on offense in 2023-24
Detroit wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown believes that the team's rookies are "going to be great" for the Lions' offense this season.
Speaking on NFL Total Access with Mike Yam on Monday, St. Brown said "I think (general manager) Brad (Holmes) and the guys here in Detroit did a great job of drafting. Obviously, they drafted me, found me in the fourth round, so they know how to find talent. OTAs, it's kind of hard to tell without pads, but there's a bunch of guys that I think are going to be great for us. Our running back that we got, Jahmyr Gibbs. I'm mostly watching the offense, so I see a lot of those guys. I can't wait to see what he does for us. Explosive back. Our tight end (Sam LaPorta), he balled out during OTAs, so I can't wait to see all of them just go out and have fun." St. Brown also said he continues to find motivation by reading the list of the 16 wide receivers selected ahead of him in the 2021 Draft three times before each practice. After an exceptional start to his career, St. Brown is on the cusp of joining the upper echelon of stars at the wide receiver position this season. In an ascending Lions' offense, he should have the opportunity to get there.
St. Brown's 2023-24 season projection includes 156.35 targets, 104.86 receptions, 1,212.09 yards, and 7.08 touchdowns. He is the WR11 in numberFire's preseason fantasy projections.
