Pats' Mac Jones calls new offense 'a great system'

New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones praised the scheme run by new offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien as being "a great system."

What It Means:

Jones said last week that the new "system puts a lot on the quarterback’s plate, but it also allows us, once we know what to do, to play really fast. So I think it’s a great system.” It sounds like the Patriots are in for a huge upgrade after last season's disaster class, which could pave the way for solid fantasy production out of more Patriots players than just Rhamondre Stevenson. Wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster, now healthy, has displayed a notable connection with Jones so far in training camp.

Jones' lack of any rushing production limits his ceiling for fantasy purposes, and even in an improved scheme he still projects to finish as the QB26 in fantasy according to numberFire's models. Still, a rising tide lifts all ships, and the Patriots' offense could be in line for a bounce back season.
