Skyy Moore starting in Chiefs' two-wide sets
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Skyy Moore has been with the starters every rep at training camp in two-wide formations, per Jesse Newell of the Kansas City Star.
Moore has emerged as the favorite over second-round rookie Rashee Rice and 2022 undrafted free agent Justyn Ross to start opposite Marquez Valdes-Scantling in two-wide sets. However, Kadarius Toney (knee) is on track to return for Week 1, so Moore's role may not be as big as it is in training camp. He struggled with ball control as a rookie and failed to make an impact, finishing with 22 catches on 33 targets for 250 scoreless yards, as well as multiple drops and fumbles lost.
numberFire's models project Moore, MVS, Toney, and Rice to all draw 80-85 targets this season. Moore is the WR55 in our preseason rankings and projected for 80.5 targets, 50.9 receptions, 600.2 yards, and 4.21 touchdowns.
