David Njoku having strong camp for Browns
Zac Jackson of The Athletic wrote that tight end David Njoku has been terrorizing linebackers and safeties in training camp for the Cleveland Browns.
What It Means:
Njoku has been "close to unstoppable" in training camp for Cleveland so far this summer, and Jackson credits that performance as much to Njoku's growth and development as he does to the Browns' lack of strong options to guard him on defense. Njoku did have something of a breakout season in 2022, and will look to build on that in 2023.
Njoku is projected for a finish as the TE11 in the upcoming season, but could stand to benefit from any improvement Deshaun Watson makes in the passing game. He's a viable target in the red zone for the team and was able to produce multiple games of 70 or more receiving yards with Jacoby Brissett under center last year.
