Dalvin Cook (shoulder) practicing Tuesday with Jets
New York Jets running back Dalvin Cook (shoulder) will practice on Tuesday.
Cook is set to practice for the first time since signing with the Jets two weeks ago. He remains on track to play in Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills on Monday night. Cook is expected to split work with Breece Hall in the Jets' backfield, but he could have a larger role to start the season if Hall is limited in his return from an ACL tear. Cook, who turned 28 in August, didn't miss a game last season for the first time in his career. Michael Carter is the next man up for the Jets if Cook or Hall are forced to miss time.
Cook is the RB27 in numberFire's preseason rankings and our models project him for 214.6 carries, 983.7 rushing yards, 43.3 targets, 31.9 receptions, 213.6 receiving yards, and 7.55 total touchdowns this season. Hall (RB20) is projected for 230.2 rush attempts and 49.4 targets over the course of the season.
