Travis Kelce (knee) is 'true' game-time decision for Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (knee) is a "true game-time decision" for Thursday night against the Detroit Lions, per Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

What It Means:

The Chiefs reportedly plan to put Kelce through a workout on Thursday before determining his status for the game. He suffered a hyperextension and a bone bruise in his knee during Tuesday's practice, so it wouldn't be surprising if Kelce is limited or inactive for the opener. Noah Gray will take over as the Chiefs' top tight end if Kelce is ruled out. There would also be more targets available for Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney (knee), and Jerick McKinnon.

Kelce has a $15,000 salary on the single-game slate and numberFire's models project him for 9.0 FanDuel points, with 5.3 targets, 3.7 receptions, and 44.3 yards. The Lions allowed the eighth-most FanDuel points per game to opposing tight ends last season.
