Rapoport: Chiefs' Travis Kelce (knee) out for Week 1 clash with Lions
Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (knee) will not play in Week 1's game against the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Kelce entered the day listed as questionable due to a hyperextended knee injury he suffered on Tuesday. According to Rapoport, Kelce "may give it another try before kickoff" but he will be out. He added that the injury is not expected to sideline Kelce long-term. With Kelce out, Noah Gray should see an increase in snaps at tight end. There will also be more targets available for Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Skyy Moore, Kadarius Toney (knee), and Jerick McKinnon.
The Chiefs are 4.5-point favorites over the Lions on Thursday Night. Their implied team total is 29.0 points.
