Colts' Anthony Richardson (concussion) returning to practice Wednesday
Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson (concussion) will practice on Wednesday, per head coach Shane Steichen.
Richardson is still in the concussion protocol after sitting out last week, but Wednesday's return to practice is a promising development. Gardner Minshew will make another start in Week 4 against the Los Angeles Rams if Richardson is unable to play. He completed 27 of 44 passes for 227 yards with 1 touchdown and no interceptions in a 22-19 overtime win against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 3.
Minshew targeted Josh Downs (12) and Michael Pittman Jr. (11) on more than half of his attempts last week, but Alec Pierce (7) was also involved. Expect a similar concentrated target distribution in Week 4 if Richardson is unable to play. The Rams’ pass defense ranks 13th based on numberFire’s opponent-adjusted NEP model.
