Buccaneers' Mike Evans dealing with minor hamstring injury
Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans is dealing with a minor hamstring injury, per head coach Todd Bowles.
Bowles said Evans just tweaked his hamstring in Sunday's Week 4 win over the New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers have their bye in Week 5, so Evans may be available for their next game on October 15 against the Detroit Lions. Chris Godwin and rookie Trey Palmer will be the top receivers for Baker Mayfield if Evans' injury is more serious than the team believes.
Evans played 25 snaps and caught 3 passes on 3 targets for 40 yards. Godwin and Palmer both played 53 snaps, but Godwin led the team with 11 targets while nobody else had more than 4. Despite the abbreviated outing in Week 4, Evans is still leading the Bucs with 31 targets (26.1%).
