Dameon Pierce (ankle) absent again Thursday for Texans
Houston Texans running back Dameon Pierce (ankle) did not practice again on Thursday for Week 10 against the Cincinnati Bengals.
Pierce appears to be heading for a second consecutive absence after missing the first two practices of the week. Devin Singletary will handle lead back duty again and Mike Boone will be his backup if Pierce remains out.
Singletary out-snapped Boone 46-17 in last week's 39-37 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he finished with only 13 carries for 26 yards and 2 empty targets. Per numberFire's opponent-adjusted NEP model for the season, the Bengals rank 13th in pass defense and 30th against the run, so the Texans may look to focus more on the ground game in Week 10. Per our NFL Heat Map, the Texans-Bengals game has the highest over/under in Week 10 (47.0).
