Saints' Michael Thomas has 'fairly significant' knee injury
New Orleans Saints wide receiver Michael Thomas suffered a "fairly significant" knee injury in Sunday's Week 10 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, per head coach Dennis Allen.
Allen said Thomas' injury isn't season-ending, but the veteran receiver will rehab during the Week 11 bye and receive a second opinion. Sixth-round rookie A.T. Perry appears to be the primary replacement for Thomas after he led the Saints' receivers with 51 snaps on Sunday. Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed also stand to benefit if Thomas misses time after the bye.
Thomas was targeted twice Sunday, on the only two snaps he played. He's averaging 7.7 targets per game when he plays at least 70 percent of the snaps this season, but Thomas' playing time and target share started trickling down prior to Sunday's injury. Perry finished with 2 receptions on 4 targets for 38 yards and a touchdown in Week 10.
